Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot stone therapy is an exciting massage treatment sweeping the country. Basalt stones are heated and applied to the body in totally unique, and super relaxing ways.
Harmonizing, restoring and rejuvenating the body at its deepest level.
Hot stone therapy goes beyond the physical experience of typical massage and enters deeper dimensions of relaxation, health and well-being.
Physically the circulation and metabolism are stimulated; mentally the client reaches a state of deep relaxation and spiritually is balanced whilst healing takes place.
Hot stone therapy combines traditional massage with the use of smooth, heated basalt stones, which are applied to the body as an extension of the therapist's hands. Cold stones can also be used to aid healing and this therapy is clinically known as "Geothermotherapy".
The massage is 10 times more effective than a normal massage. The warmth of these heated stones penetrates muscles and balances the nervous system like no other treatment. Crystals can be used during the treatment to help balance the body's energy chakras.
Benefits include
- Deeper relaxation than standard massage techniques
- Toxin removal
- Increases range of motion
- Calms the nervous system
- Increases rate and flow of blood circulation
- Provides relaxation, decongestion and detoxification
- Accelerates lymph drainage

Electrolysis
Electrolysis
Each individual hair is treated by inserting a tiny surgical probe into the hair follicle, with this in place, a tiny impulse of energy is transmitted down the hair root. The hair is then taken out, but not pulled. This is repeated over the entire area until it is cleared of unwanted hair.
For electrolysis to have a long term effect on hair growth, you will need to take a series of treatments. It works by destroying the hair completely if the hair is in the "Anagen" growing stage other wise it weakens the hair over time so eventually it stops growing. Every person is different in the time it actually takes for the hair to stop growing, it depends on other factors such as whether you have tampered with the hair or not. Our therapist will be happy to advise you on this treatment when you come in.
Waxing
Waxing
All of the basic waxing treatments along with a selection specialist waxing treatments are available at the salon. Prior to the treatment - the therapist will cleanse the area using a specially formulated pre-cleansing lotion. The therapist will then apply a high quality cream warm wax and remove the unwanted hair. You should ensure that the hair to be waxed is a minimum of around 0.75cm - 1cm so that the wax will take to the hair effectively. This is normally around 2 weeks post-shaving growth for most ladies or 4-6 weeks post waxing. Once the waxing has been completed, a soothing tea tree lotion is applied to soothe and help the skin recover from the waxing treatment.
Reflexology
Reflexology
Reflexology has become a popular alternative therapy in the UK during recent years. It has been around for 4000 years and was first used in the middle and eastern continents and was introduced to the Western world during the early 1900's.
Reflexology is based on the theory that reflex areas on the feet and hands are linked to organs and other areas of the body within the same zone. A unique massaging method is used by the reflexologist on the patients hands and feet to bring the patient back to an optimal balance of mental and physical well being. Today, reflexology has been recognised to help with a long list of conditions from migraine to sporting injuries and has helped people with pain relief from more serious disease such as cancer. Reflexology should not be used to replace medical care or practice but should be regarded as complimentary to it. Recent scientific studies have been carried out on the effectiveness of reflexology as a treatment. Current results look strong in the areas of stress and pain reduction and pre-menstrual syndrome.
Reflexology has been shown to be effective for treating

Bio Energiser D-Tox
Bio Energiser D-Tox
As part of our usual body functionality we naturally detoxify every day. Eliminating toxins and waste via our kidneys, liver, colon, lymph glands, lungs and skin. Toxins can be found in our everyday environment; tobacco, alcohol, food additives, drugs and anaesthetics, pesticides, heavy metals and industrial pollutants.
We need our body to function optimally and rid our system of these toxins as they are harmful waste products, which attack our immune system and can cause a wide variety of side effects, including; lethargy and tiredness, headaches and migraines, colds and flu, bad skin, breath and body odour problems, sinus problems, the list goes on. In fact, some theory exists to suggest that detoxification may at some point be suggested as an alternative to the prevention of immune deficiency disease
The D-Tox spa starts the process of rebalancing your body's bio-energy. Effectively rebalancing the cells equilibrium of positive and negative ions, which in turn "kick starts" the dispersal of unwanted toxins. The renewed re-balancing of the cells ensures re-hydration resulting in optimum efficiency of their function to extract nutrients and dispose of unwanted waste.
Paraffin Wax
Paraffin Wax
Pain Relief From Paraffin Waxing
Physicians, Physiotherapists and Arthritis specialists, have recommended Paraffin Wax therapy since 1962, and although it is probably one of the most under-rated treatments, it is now making a come back.
The warm paraffin is one of the most effective ways of applying heat to reduce the swelling in muscles, decrease inflammation of joints and connective tissues, soothe the pain from arthritis and improve circulation.
